After finishing her visual arts education in Brussels in 2007, Emmanuelle worked in a variety of communication and graphic design agencies, both in Europe and here in Montreal. Since taking the freelance plunge four years ago, she’s been able to make room for developing artistic interests, including photography and graphic experiments in silkscreen printing, though it’s clear her time in Belgium left an impression, inspired as she continues to be by the ideas and avant-garde vision of the post-war Dada movement. Her drawings are spontaneous and instinctual, working with shape and colour in a manner akin to naive art.
