We’re thrilled to announce our upcoming art show featuring work by Sarah Letteney (smallsuture) a self-taught artist living and drawing in Burlington, Vermont. Sarah’s opening comes in tandem with a new beer project with @deepcitvt, to be announced soon.

Using a dip pen and ink, Sarah creates works on paper inspired by the ways in which we celebrate and grieve our relationships, and how we change and are changed by the spaces we inhabit. Many of her recent drawings use lightheartedness and curiosity to record how we collect, keep, and attach sentimental value to the things we surround ourselves with, especially through the lens of loss and grief.

She’s been contributing drawings and cartoons to The New Yorker since 2018, illustrated a few books on topics from brain development to maple sugaring to landscape architecture, and recently had a solo exhibit of large works at the Karma Bird House Gallery in Burlington. You can also find her art around town on pickle jars and even a Foam beer can or two.

The show, titled Here and There, will feature drawings of buildings and spaces Sarah has made between NYC and Burlington over the past year.

The opening reception will take place on January 31 at 5 PM here at Foam and @deepcityvt, our restaurant attached to the brewery. All work will be available for sale.

We’ve known Sarah for many years and are proud to call her a friend and an integral part of the Vermont art community. She’s contributed artwork for several of our (beloved) beer cans over the years, and we couldn’t be more excited to share her work with you.

We hope you’ll join us for this special evening. [Free event]
