Tea Eater is a Brooklyn‑based art‑punk band led by Tarra Thiessen (Gustaf/Sharkmuffin). Known for their sharp, playful approach to chaos, the band has built momentum through constant touring, a month‑long LA residency, festival appearances including Distorsion Psych Fest, and multiple UK/EU and East Coast headline runs. Their debut LP Obsession introduced their post‑apocalypse sense of fun, produced and mixed by Drew Vandenberg (Bambara / Faye Webster / Of Montreal), and quickly set them apart.
Their new album, I Don’t Believe in Bad Luck, follows a hotline psychic who’s tired of everyone — and herself. The record shifts through stories about waffles, bugs, butter, villains, and the shadow side of self‑reflection, all delivered with fuzzy hooks and a sense of humor. Recent releases include “Technicolor Rash,” “NY Myth,” and a limited‑edition star‑shaped vinyl featuring a remix of “Cosmic Coconut” by David Sound Wizard.
Opening the night are The Pilgrims, who have been making rock music in Vermont for fifteen years. With a handful of albums and hundreds of shows behind them, the band continues to move forward with the steady, lived‑in sound they’ve built over time. Their latest record, Joking but Serious, was described by Seven Days as “evok[ing] intense, sometimes upsetting thoughts, feelings, and memories.”
