Boston‑based touring stringband Hound & Handler bring their high‑energy Bluegrass/Americana sound and a dynamic mix of original vocal songs, instrumentals, and wide‑ranging covers. Formed in 2021, the band has leaned deeply into its bluegrass roots, featuring Sean Davis on mandolin, guitar, and high‑lonesome harmonies, Ross Kiah on guitar and lead vocals, and Joe Everett on upright bass and vocals.
Their 2025 release, I Feel It All, presents lively originals centered around the struggle to establish oneself in a time and place where resources flow overwhelmingly to the fortunate few. The EP includes four original vocal tracks, two genre‑bending instrumentals, and a hard‑driving version of Taj Mahal’s “She Caught the Katy.” A complementary release arriving in Spring 2026 expands on these themes, continuing their blend of contemporary storytelling and bluegrass tradition.
Supporting Hound & Handler is Good Gravy, a Burlington‑based bluegrass trio featuring Joe Agnello, Jeff Wilson, and Jack Vignone. The group pays homage to traditional bluegrass greats while maintaining a contemporary approach, showcased on their debut album Beat Up, Broke Down, available on all streaming services.
