With Chicago roots and a Green Mountain soul, Tyler Mast is a multi-genre performing artist and songwriter. Specializing on piano, organ, keyboards, and vocals, Tyler Mast's captivating style is unequivocally his own. Seven Days VT says, "Mast displays and indulges a wide-ranging musical curiosity. An artfully groovy hybrid of jazz, funk, rock, and roots music." His upcoming 2022 album "In the Company of a Friend" has been described as "...if Dawes, Elton John, and The Allman Brothers had a dream child".
As a performer, Tyler has had the pleasure of sharing the stage with members of Phish, Trey Anastatio Band, Derek Trucks Band, moe., Melvin Seals and Jerry Garcia Band, Bombino, Grace Potter, Kat Wright, Dopapod, Rubblebucket, Seth Yacovone Band, The Grift, Guster, and more. His own notable past bands and projects include Bearquarium, Craig Mitchell and Motor City, Tyler Mast and Paradise Divide, Ray Vega Quartet, Josh Panda and the Hot Damned, countless iterations of organ trios and soul-jazz combos, and a long list of tribute shows honoring artists such as Elton John, Queen, Led Zeppelin, Van Morrison, Allman Brothers Band, The Doors, Tom Petty, Jerry Garcia Band, The Grateful Dead, Phish, Etta James, Herbie Hancock, Prince, Michael Jackson, Talking Heads, David Bowie, and more.
In the studio, Tyler has worked with dozens of amazingly talented artists as a hired session player. He acted as executive producer of his own albums, In the Company of a Friend (2022), Stereo Esteria (2016), and Bearquarium's self-titled album (2010). He was the assistant producer for Bearquarium's second album Capital House (2012), and a musical collaborator for the New England Emmy-nominated TV series "Mister Chris and Friends" (2020).
