Massachusetts-based Splendid Torch brings a fluid, collaborative approach to songwriting, blending folk, country, and rock into something expansive but grounded. Led by multi-instrumentalists Lily Sexton, Sean Davis, Karl Helander, and Josh Ballard, the band leans on textured lyricism, layered instrumentation, and expressive vocals. Their sound pulls from across the spectrum, from George Harrison and Emmylou Harris to The Band and John Hartford, landing somewhere personal, warm, and quietly dynamic.
“…ICON has a joyous, upbeat feel. This is an album with plenty to commend it, and will resonate with those of a traditional bent.” - Americana UK
“[Splendid Torch] will no doubt appeal to fans of Big Thief and the Punch Brothers alike in the richness of its musicality.” - Rock and Roll World
“Splendid Torch discovers the chimeric coupling of technical finesse and emotional warmth” - Zillions magazine
Joining them is Burlington’s own Ponyhustle, a band rooted in the classic sounds of honky-tonk and country. Drawing inspiration from the 50s and 60s, they bring a stripped-down, authentic feel while keeping things lively and current. Known for anchoring Honky Tonk Tuesday for nearly a decade, Ponyhustle has built a following around their ability to make old sounds feel fresh and immediate.
A night of thoughtful songwriting, twang, and easygoing groove.
