We're beyond excited to welcome River Whyless back to the Foam stage for a Sunday Evening show in April, which happens to be Easter day. The show will come just after the release of their forthcoming album, Monoflora.
Hailing from Asheville, NC, River Whyless is an art-folk quartet with a talent for sentimental songwriting and gentle yet in-depth melodies. They've graced the stages of beloved festivals such as Newport Folk Festival, Bonnaroo, and Hardly Strictly Bluegrass. They've also received critical acclaim from NPR Music, American Songwriter, and Stereogum, among many others.
Their upcoming album, Monoflora came as the result of the four members - Halli Anderson, Ryan O’Keefe, Daniel Shearin and Alex McWalters secluding themselves for thirty days deep in the hills outside Asheville, NC. They made the intentional choice to produce the album themselves, and, in some ways, Monoflora returns to the band's more acoustic origins. You might say this album feels like a culmination of all previous works. The arrangements on Monoflora are more intricate and dynamic than any of the band’s previous work, the instrumentation more eclectic and expansive.
We're all eager to hear it, and it will be a joy, and a treat to see it live at Foam. We're looking forward to you all joining us on this rare and special Sunday night.
