Join us at Foam Brewers on Wednesday January 31st at 530PM for a unique women+ networking event. Hosted by Vermont Womenpreneurs, Mercy Connections, and the Valkyries Brewing Club to raise money towards scholarships for the StartUp business program, which is part of Mercy Connections' Inclusive Entrepreneurship program. Come connect, support, and empower the Women+ community. Live music from Emma Cook & more, light snacks provided by Foam Brewers, empanadas for sale by Paprika Catering, cocktail bar, and a special release of our Rise of the Valkyries collaboration brew.

Valkyries Brewing Club is brewing club at Foam Brewers created by our beloved, Olivia Sommers, for folks who have experienced gender-based oppression and feel comfortable in women-aligned spaces. Valkyries Brewing Club has a commitment to our continued support for female-identifying folks in the brewing industry, brewing delicious beers together, and learning about the brewing process as a whole!

Tickets are $15 with the option to make an additional $5 donation. A portion of the total proceeds will go toward matching Foam Brewers charitable donation to Mercy Connections' StartUp program scholarships.

Music From:

[Hannah Hannah]

She was born and raised in Massachusetts, sang in choirs and music ensembles, and started writing and composing music on the guitar at age 19. The music came through her, and healing in nature, served as a balm for her wounds and a companion to her process.

A few years later, Hannah moved to Burlington, Vermont where she began her professional music career. She sang lead vocals and co-wrote songs in Warm Water, an original Folk/Jazz band, and currently plays in Honey & Soul, an Indie Folk Soul band featuring Hannah's original music. In 2019, Honey & Soul was nominated to compete in Grace Potter's Grand Point North competition, and they joyfully came in second place.

Hannah has slowly been building her solo career, first recording an EP in 2018 called "To the River," a short collection of songs about claiming one’s power through radical honesty and a connection to the earth. In 2020, during the height of the pandemic, she released a single, speaking to the collective isolation and longing for connection with artist and producer, Eric George, called, "I Wanna Make Out With You."

Hannah is in the process of releasing a new body of work, slowly releasing each song as a work of its own. July 5th 2022 brought “23 Pelican Sky” into the world - a song about going at your own pace. On July 29th, Hannah Hannah will be releasing her next single, “Isbell Cottage.” Written after a particularly difficult time, this song is about taking space and time to rest.

Five more songs will follow suit over the next few months. Consider signing up for the mailing list, to be the first to know.

[Emma Cook]

Emma's music marks the moment. With thoughtful lyrics and upbeat grooves she’ll draw you in, singing songs about spice racks and swimming and everything in between. A powerful, expressive vocal range elevates lyrics that are grounded, soulful, and clever.

If you had to, you could call her sound soulful folk or jazzy pop, and since 2013 Emma has performed her music with folk-funk backing band Questionable Company on stages throughout New England and the Midwest.  Her values of connection and community, presence and compassion, energize her performances and reach toward the goal of creating a shared and joyous experience. Since 2018, in addition to writing and touring her original music, Emma has worked with kids — offering private lessons to budding musicians, performing original music for kids, and leading classes of music & movement for the under 5 crowd in her community.

During the recent pandemic, Emma released five singles from her home studio: four songs for kids, and most recently Meet My Maker in collaboration with her husband-drummer Andy Feltus, and high-school mentor and Norther Michigan local legend Patrick Niemisto.

When not making music you’ll find Emma with her young daughter, in the garden, walking the waterfront, riding a bike, spending time in the yard with friends. Born and raised in Michigan, Emma now calls Vermont home.
