Cohen knows a thing or two about baring it all. His new LP, I Put the Day Away, which drops this Friday, March 22, on Bandcamp and Spotify, is a confessional blast of indie rock, ennui and lyrical bombs. While not a concept record per se, I Put the Day Away is suffused with Cohen's multilayered existential dread. From lost loves to a love-hate relationship with alcohol to a lifelong fear of death, Cohen airs it all out on the LP. It also serves as a goodbye of sorts to New York City, where he spent seven years before returning to Vermont in 2017. - Chris Farnsworth // Seven Days

[Phil Cohen]
Phil Cohen blends hard hitting indie rock and lyric driven folk into a lush soundscape that represents the many versions of his life. Hailing from rural Vermont, he spent his formative years in NYC where he began his first nursing job in Manhattan. The unique perspective that arose highly informed his musicality and lyricism. Flowing effortlessly between lucidity and dream state, Phil's latest works explore themes of existential dread, lost love, religion, and his past through rose colored glasses.
[riverbed]
riverbed is an indie folk project created by Christie Woods-Lucas that emerged from over a decade of solo performance and group performance under the name Dirty Bird. riverbed emerged too, from memory, transience, and strong roots in place.
The music of riverbed is born from and evokes natural landscapes. riverbed itself is grounded in the natural world, in the stability that underlies ceaseless movement.
In Christie’s songs, place and nature are not just a backdrop but a foundation of hope and light among a changing and challenging journey of life. Innovative arrangements provide accompaniment to poetry that speaks of resiliency as a source of steadiness amidst loss, sorrow, uncertainty, and change.
