SOBO is an intimate documentary following Matt Lyons, an aspiring thru-hiker and later, viral outdoor comedian, as he attempts to conquer the Pacific Crest Trail. After an injury forces him off the trail in 2021, Matt returns a year later for a transformative two-year journey. The film offers an unfiltered look at the physical and mental demands of long-distance hiking, the essential role of community and the profound personal growth found amidst the breathtaking, yet increasingly vulnerable, landscapes of the American West.
