Beer, drinks, and snacks will be available in Foam + Deep City. 5pm, free.As an artist, illustrator and Burlington native, Matt has been finding his way through the world with a sketchbook in hand and a whimsical eye. He has done commercial work ranging from merchandise designs to promotional event graphics for multiple local institutions and keeps up an active personal practice.“Somewhere on the way Home” is born from lived experiences filtered through dreamy surreal-ness. From an obsessive sketchbook practice to inked illustrations on paper, to colored screen prints– this process full of limitations breathes structure and life into the final pieces. This show connects the personal reflections that come with constant moving. From big city living to suburban bike rides to inner exploration, we find works crammed with playful, cheeky moments that build out the world at large.Along with the opening we'll be releasing an exciting new beer featuring Matt's art. Details to come. AND after the opening, @wildleekriver will be playing a free show at the brewery at 8pm.
