Sharing stages with Sicard Hollow, Mountain Grass Unit, Michigan Rattlers, Kitchen Dwellers, they've carved out a unique voice in the bluegrass scene with sharp songwriting and high-energy performances. Blending indie spirit with bluegrass grit, their live shows strike a balance between tight musicianship and loose, conversational banter. A trio that punches above its weight, and not to be missed
[Up North]
Mike and Jeff go way back to a band called the Medicinals in the 2000s, and more recently have played in Old Tone String Band with members of local legends Beg, Steal or Borrow. They were most recently in Timberline, playing venues like 14th Star Brewing, Jericho Cafe, and Rattling Brook Bluegrass Festival.
Mark was in HardScrabble on mandolin and guitar, was/is in South Town Bluegrass and most recently he was in Timberline with Mike and Jeff. He is a regular guest/fill-in on the local bluegrass scene and has played guitar and mandolin with the Prohibition Pickers, members of Bloodroot Gap, Dale & Darcy and others.
We play outlaw improvisational bluegrass, with hard-driving bluegrass that sounds like damn bluegrass, and improv that keeps things surprising.
Mike Lorenz, Mandolin
Mark Gigliotti, Guitar
Jeff Thompson, Upright Bass
