Foam Presents: Olivia Lurrie with Danny and The Parts and Delta Sweet Duo. May 23rd. Free Show.
Olivia Lurrie is a Burlington, Vermont-based singer-songwriter blending indie sensibilities with classic country sounds. A former staple of Brooklyn’s alt-country scene, Lurrie’s debut solo album Sweetheart of the BQE is a deeply personal collection of songs recorded over several years and released in 2024. Her storytelling-driven style draws influence from artists like Patsy Cline and Nancy & Lee, rooted in a love for home recording and honest songwriting. Formerly performing under the name Babies’ Babies, Lurrie is now focused on creating new work with collaborators in Vermont and New York.
Danny & The Parts are native to the Burlington Vermont area. Taking from local talent, Danny & The Parts holds down an original Honky-Tonk rhythm and feel, reminiscent of Americana at its best. Sweeping vocal and and harmonic melodies twangy tele-caster guitar magic create a wildly new atmospheric sound.
The Delta Sweet Duo plays a blend of country and blues that transports audiences to the heart of American roots music. Although they both grew up in New England, Sarah Cutler and Nick Losito draw inspiration from the rich musical traditions of the South with a repertoire that pays homage to blues legends and country pioneers, as well as their own heartfelt originals.
The Delta Sweet Duo are a testament to the timeless allure of roots music, carrying on the tradition with reverence and innovation. Perfect in intimate venues and lively gatherings alike, they invite audiences to slow down, lean in, and feel every lyric.
