Giovanina is a singer-songwriter and guitarist based out of St. Albans, VT. Born and raised in Plattsburgh, NY, Giovanina has spent the latter half of her life indulging a relentless appetite for travel and adventure. She has made homes in Ithaca, NY, Londonderry, Ireland, St. Thomas, USVI, Flagstaff, AZ, Durango, CO, and now Vermont. Having soaked up a diverse catalog of influence, culture, and conversation--her style is nothing short of eclectic. Rooted in blues, soul, and folk, she writes about the intimate experiences that have shaped her as a human and as a songstress. A live performance quickly showcases Giovanina's unique guitar style and sultry delivery. After winning the Advance Music Singer/Songwriter contest in November 2011, Giovanina went on to release three solo albums, The Road Home in 2013, A Bit of Alright in 2015, and Storytellers on July 2, 2021. Storytellers was recorded in September 2020 with a dynamite group of musicians (Bob Wagner, Josh Weinstein, Jay Lesage, and Dwight Ritcher) in Burlington, and produced by Ryan Montbleau, this record showcases Giovanina's best work. Songs and stories that naturally develop over time with age and perspective.
Giovanina is also part of the acoustic trio, Nina's Brew, alongside bandmates, Michael Brewster and Isaac French. She is the rhythm guitarist, lead singer and songwriter for the group, with Michael on lead guitar and Isaac on cajon and guitar. As three singer-songwriters, the band's live show is full of harmonies, improvisation, a mix of Giovanina's originals and some fun cover tunes. While NB no longer tours full-time, they do reunite intermittently to return to some of their favorite venues. Nina's Brew released their first EP, Don't Tell Mama, in 2017 and a follow-up full-length trio album, Mixtape, in November 2019.
Giovanina continues to balance her music career as a soloist, band member, and alongside the many talented friends with whom she collaborates.
